Abstract

In this paper, a novel multi-directional material blending method is presented for heterogeneous object modeling. Optimum material blending through multiple target features is proposed using dynamic programming in two stages. Firstly, optimum morphing between the Voronoi diagram and target features is obtained. Secondly, an optimum ruling line alignment and insertion technique is applied between the generator feature and the Voronoi diagram. Multi-directional material composition is then mapped onto the geometric domain. Computational implementation and examples are presented in this paper.
