Abstract
A much simplified electrochromic structure is designed based on a multifunctional ionic hydrogel. The three-layered structure exhibits significant color change with large transmittance modulation and high coloration efficiency. Moreover, an ionic writing board is developed with the hydrogel to realize the first rewritable electrochromic display.
