Abstract

In this paper a low profile stacked-patch antenna with monopole-like radiation characteristics is proposed. The multilayer stacked-patch antenna has a compact footprint of 0.18 λ02 and a total thickness of 0.067 λ0. According to the full-wave simulation, the antenna exhibits good on-body performance and low specific absorption rate (SAR) which makes it a good candidate for on-body communication.
