Abstract
A multilevel-multigrid computational algorithm is described for axisymmetric recirculating flows. A brief discussion of the basic theory of the multilevel fast solver method is presented. The method is used to calculate two flow fields. The first involves laminar flow in a contraction while the second is a turbulent flow in an expansion. The predictions are compared with experimental data. The influence of different iterative schemes on the computational times is also presented.
