Abstract

Multiobjective optimization (MOO) provides the designer with a set of solutions that show potential tradeoffs between multiple conflicting objectives-e.g., performance and cost. Despite its utility, MOO is not as popular in electromagnetics (EMs) and optics as it is in other fields, such as economics, finance, and mechanical and chemical engineering. This article will provide a tutorial and introduction for electrical engineers interested in using a MOO algorithm.
