Multiple diffraction of a line source field by a three-part resistive plane

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The investigation of multiple diffraction between the interacting edges of planar structures is an important phenomenon in diffraction theory and relevant for many engineering applications. In this paper, a uniform asymptotic high-frequency solution is developed for the diffraction of a line source field by a three-part resistive plane. The related boundary-value problem is formulated into a modified scalar Wiener-Hopf equation (MSWHE). By performing the factorization of the kernel functions through the Maliuzhinets function, MSWHE is reduced to a pair of coupled Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and then solved approximately by iterations.
