Abstract
Further developments are presented on a dynamic three-dimensional strength model that may be useful for evaluating musculosketal stresses incurred during a variety of manual activities. The model being developed is a modification of the articulated total body model introduced by A. Freivalds and I. Kaleps (1984). Further refinements now include orderly recruitment patterns, differential motor units, active state function and fatigue. Simulations of locomotion are presented to illustrate the potential of this muscularized three-dimensional biomechanical model.
