title = "N = 2 superconformal algebras and Jordan triple systems",
abstract = "We give a construction of N = 2 superconformal algebras over hermitian Jordan triple systems (JTS). The N = 2 superconformal algebras obtained by this method correspond to realizations over hermitian symmetric spaces, which can be compact or non- compact. Over the hermitian JTS's one can construct a large class of N = 2 superconformal algebras with central charge c = 9, which characterize the {"}internal sector{"} of the four-dimensional superstring or heterotic string theories with N = 1 space-time supersymmetry.",

note = "Funding Information: Over the last two decades, conformal symmetry has come to play a fundamental role in the formulation and understanding of string theories and two-dimensional critical systems. For example, the local gauge symmetry underlying (super)string theory is the local (super)conformal symmetry \[1 \]. On the other hand, two-dimensional physical systems exhibit conformal symmetry at their critical points and their critical exponents can be calculated using the representation theory of the Virasoro algebra. Furthermore, it has been shown that the vacua of the heterotic string that correspond to four-dimensional space-time with N= 1 space-time supersymmetry are described by an underlying {"}internal{"} N= 2 supercon-formal theory (with central charge c=9) \[2\]. Because of this, as well as its potential relevance to critical systems, a lot of work has been done on the N= 2 superconformal algebra and the theories mvar-iant under it. The minimal series representations (c< 3) of the N= 2 superconformal algebra (SCA) have been constructed over the coset space SU (2)/ U ( 1 ) \[3 \]. More recently, Kazama and Suzuki (KS) gave a construction of a large class of N= 2 supercon-formal theories via the coset space (G/H) method \[4\] applied to super Kac-Moody algebras \[5\].
