Abstract
Magnesium titanate has been prepared by a nanocomposite approach making use of ultrafine magnesium oxide and nanophase titanium dioxide. Densification behavior of nanocomposite mixed powder was evaluated in comparison with magnesium titanate powder derived from monophasic (sol-gel) processing method. The slightly better sinterability of nanocomposite mixed powder was attributed to smaller temperature interval between crystallization and densification temperatures.
