Abstract

Various aspects of nanoclusters ranging from 1 nanometer to 100 nanometer for nanocomputing based on electroluminescent silver nanoclusters were discussed. Nanoparticles exhibited size tunable electronic and optical properties and were used in computers because of their charge injection and transport properties. Nanoscale particles improved computer efficiency by the charge transport through discrete molecular energy exhibited by size confined materials. It was observed that at room temperature a semiconductor nanogap made of silver oxide with silver nanocluster showed the complex switching behavior in terms of current and electroluminescene.
