Abstract

There are many sources of uncertainty in the rapidly developing field of stream restoration. Among the most prevalent of these is the lack of clearly defined restoration objectives. By identifying specific goals for a stream restoration plan prior to project design and implementation, the degree of success or failure of the completed project can be more readily assessed. In addition, appropriate restoration designs and measures can be linked with precise restoration objectives.
