Abstract
Three current topics in creative developments of electromechanical materials are reviewed: first, polymeric piezoelectric materials such as polyvinylidene fluoride with low elastic stiffness; second, ceramic-plastic composites with 3–1 phase connectivity; third, electrostrictive materials with large elastic strains free from hysteresis and aging effects.
