Abstract
Gas adsorption on the surface of graphite has exhibited the diverse physical properties of two-dimensional matter. In this paper, we review some recent developments involving phase transitions for the generalized version of this problem. Included are low temperature phenomena involving adsorption on buckyballs and nanotubes, as well as a proposed imbibition transition, in which gas intercalates between graphene and a solid body, like silica.
