Abstract
The nitroxide mediated controlled copolymerization of methyl acrylate with 1-alkenes and norbornene derivatives was carried out. The living nature of copolymerization helped the synthesis of materials with controlled molecular weight and polydispersity. It was found that non-metal based systems were used for controlled copolymerization as the metal based system contains colored impurities. The procedure broadened the scope of nitroxide mediated polymerization in the synthesis of metal free materials with novel properties.
