Abstract

A proof for nonexistence of a solution for reverse radial stagnation flow on a cylinder was shown. The axisymmetric reverse stagnation potential flow in (r, z) cylindrical coordinates with uniform suction velocity U0 consists of radial and axial velocity (u, w) were shown in the equation. The inviscid streamline pattern in a meridional plane, sketched for zero transpiration (U0 = 0), showed a stagnation circle at r = a, z = 0. It was found that the results were valid for either suction or blowing on the cylinder wall.
