N2 - Numerous opportunities exist for separation of air from VOC in petrochemical handling and CPI. A discussion on the application of CMS perfluorinated membranes for the prevention of hydrocarbon emissions in a high volume commercial application, presented at the 2004 AIChE National Spring Meeting (New Orleans, LA 4/25-29/2004), covers the use of a CMS membrane in a vapor processor to separate air from VOC found in the headspace of UST; and venting of clean air to the atmosphere and recirculation of supersaturated gasoline vapors to the UST where they partially condense and remain as saleable product.
