Abstract

A detailed geological model is assembled to develop a long term strategy to minimize production decline of the Numbi Field. This model was used as a basis for a finely detailed simulation model. The simulation model showed that particular layers and certain areas of the field were under-injected and large quantities of oil have been displaced into the gas cap. An aggressive repressurization strategy is applied to prevent further pressure depletion and to minimize the volume of oil displaced into the gas cap.
