Numerical study of the light-beam propagation inside two-dimensional photonic crystals

Abstract

We numerically study the propagation of Gaussian beams inside two-dimensional hexagonal photonic crystal. We analyze discrepancies between Finite Difference Time Domain simulations and plane-wave calculations in terms of light propagation in dispersive negative refraction medium.
