Abstract

We examine numerically and experimentally photonic band-gaps in liquidlike two dimensional photonic materials. Subwavelength dielectric rods and holes are randomly placed with Monte Carlo simulations, fabricated on silicon-on-insulator chips, and measured in near infrared wavelengths.
