Abstract
We investigate coherence in near-threshold photodetachment from [Formula Presented] in a magnetic field, using laser pulses much shorter than the cyclotron period of the electron. Illumination of the ions by one pulse creates a wave packet of uniformly spaced cyclotron orbits. A second, identical pulse creates a second wave packet that interferes with the first. The observed interference is similar to but not in complete agreement with a model in which the interference is modulated at the cyclotron frequency. This is an observation of Ramsey interference in a one-dimensional continuum.
