Observer design of control systems with descriptor-like model

Abstract

In this paper two techniques for designing state observer in the context of a descriptor-like system model is presented. The design methods are developed by incorporating the structural properties of the descriptor model into the existing observer design theorems. The resulting methods exhibit special structural properties that offer attractive computational cost and error reductions in comparison to the existing techniques. This computational efficiency and a numerical example for application of this method is also discussed.
