Abstract

This study explores those factors associated with older Americans' awareness of programs, use of programs, and program satisfaction. Among variables commonly assumed to be tied to the three stages of program encounters are social and personal resources, need, and program characteristics. A sample of rural elderly provides a data base for studying the extent to which these are, infact, related to the different stages. Some implications for programs for older Americans are suggested.
