Abstract

A sequential test technique for on-line fault diannosis of sensor siqnals has been developed and successfully demonstrated in an oneratinq nuclear reactor. The nethodoloqy provides a systematic procedure for detection and isolation of sensor failures by taking into account consistencies amonq all available measurements of a given process variable. Fault diaqnosis is acconplished on the basis of the cumulative information derived from the measurement history that includes the past and current observations.
