Abstract

The rare decays ZVV and ZVP are calculated in the framework of the nonrelativistic quarkonium model. The branching ratios are found to be small, around 10-12 for charmonium and 10-10 for bottomonium. An interesting feature of our result is the fact that for ZVV the longitudinal polarizations of the vector mesons contribute, meaning that the amplitude is nonvanishing as mV0, in contrast with Yang's theorem for photons.
