Abstract
Two magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) velocimetry methods, spin-tagging and phase contrast, were used to study Poiseuille flow. The investigation was focused on the velocity errors introduced in the post processing step of MRI spin-tagging velocity measurements in Poiseuille flows. An Optical flow was employed using both synthetic and real data. The spin-tagging images for a Re = 230 Poiseuille flow gave an average error of 6.41%, which was consistent with the measurement error of synthetic images with the same level of random noise.
