Optical Control of One-Dimensional Topological End States via Soliton Formation

Abstract

We demonstrate all-optical active control of topological states in evanescently-coupled waveguide arrays. Soliton formation optically induces a linear topological end state in the bulk of a Su-Schrieffer-Heeger lattice that we observe via a pump-probe technique.
