Abstract

Addition of progesterone to the medium of successful cultures of human endometrium evoked tissue changes that did not occur in endometrial explants of control cultures. The anticipated secretory differentiative alterations of the progesterone-stimulated explants took place irrespective of the cycle day of origin of the endometrium, and were associated with augmented alkaline phosphatase activity of the glandular cells.
