    Abstract

New reflective optical fiber star couplers are proposed. The star broadcasts to all receiwers without excess loss by rotating the polarization of the transmitted light by 90°. The couplers use an orthogonal‐polarization variable reflector that can act as either a full or half reflector. Published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
