Abstract
The 21st century has seen rapid and profound technological innovations that have fundamentally changed the global media environment, which, in turn, has deeply impacted important aspects of people's daily experiences, emotional experiences in particular. Given the centrality of emotions to human action and interaction, as well as to psychological well-being, this volume explores the effects of newer media technology experiences on our lives through the lens of emotion science. Organized around four major themes-evoking and measuring emotional response, psychological well-being, social relationships, and information engagement-this work highlights the powerful role that emotions play when people enter online spaces.
