abstract = "We have investigated the cooling effect of field emission from PbTe to reduce the thermal conduction in the cathode. It is found that the energy exchange per electron is large enough to cool a small device. It is also found that the net cooling power is more efficient than that obtained for field emission from typical semiconductors.",
