Abstract

The effect of boundary conditions on parameter estimation from tracer response measurement is treated using moments and least-squares methods of analyses. The following relationships were obtained for the method of least squares: Pecc=0.70 Peoo1.073 and τccoo=1.05-(0.378/Peoo), where cc and oo refer to closed-closed and open-open boundary conditions. It is further shown experimentally that the moments method is only reliable for the zeroth and first moments.
