Abstract
A phenomenological theory is proposed for the solid solution systems between the ferroelectric Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3and the antiferroelectric Pb(M1/2W1/2)O3(M=Mn, Co, Ni), using Kittel’s free energy expression for the two-inflattice model. The expansion coefficients of the free energy were determined from experimental information about the phase diagrams and showed a systematic change with the component M. Good agreement was obtained between experimental data and calculated values.
