Abstract
It has been demonstrated that PLZT ceramics exhibit large photostriction under optical irradiation, and are applicable to photostrictive actuators. Photo-driven relays and micro-walking machines have been developed, which are designed to start moving under the irradiation and have neither electric lead wires nor electric circuits.
