Abstract

The piezolectric properties of templated grain grown (TGG) Zr-doped barium titanate single crystals were determined. 4.5 mol % and 8.5 mol % Zr dopants resulted in room temperature orthorhombic and rhombohedral single crystals, respectively. Orthorhombic crystals showed room temperature dielectric constant and dielectric loss approximately 3500 and 0.01, while the rhombohedral crystals exhibited a remanent polarization of 10 ∈C/cm2.
