N2 - End users are exposed to tremendous amounts of information from the Internet on a daily basis. As a result, they must decide how to manage and assimilate that information into their daily activities. We argue that web mashups may be one way for end users to manage their data integration needs. In this paper, we present a study that investigates the types of online information that end users encounter and the types of interactions between information sources that they imagine to be useful. To do this, we examine the first steps of the mashup creation process - data gathering and data integration. Moreover we report on the observations of end users creating a data mashup using an online tool. Finally, we offer a plan for future work.
