Abstract

It is shown that the longitudinal component of the lepton polarization gives the main lepton-polarization dependence of the cross section in one-photon exchange at high energy. Concise formulas for the cross section and final longitudinal component of lepton polarization are given, in terms of the initial component and the four form factors, for arbitrary initial nucleon spin state.
