Abstract

Hyperbranched polyphenylenes were synthesized using a new methodology. Polymers of terminal diynes underwent postpolymerization in the solid state. Since the as-prepared polymer at low temperature was soluble, the crosslinking reaction in the film state made the polymer a promising candidate for coating materials. The nature of the catalysts played a key role in determining the molecular structures of the polymers.
