Abstract

Cloud electrification remains one of the most important, fundamental problems in meteorology. It is important to investigate new experimental techniques in meteorology which may contribute to improved understanding of cloud electrification. In this regard, this paper considers the question whether information on the distribution of electric fields in clouds might be obtained from radar differential reflectivity (Z//D//R) polarimetric measurements.
