Abstract

The heat transfer inside the molten core material of reactor vessel was studied using strong buyancy-induced flows resulting from the internal heating due to the decay of fission products. The boundary temperature was measured using four T-type thermocouples. To stimulate the uniform heat generation, a direct heating method was adopted. The result show that direct heating method can be used to stimulate uniform volumetric heat generation.
