Abstract
Very small bending specimens have proven to be useful in evaluating certain aspects of wood strength in wood quality studies and in products where sufficient material is unavailable for standard-size samples. A cutting technique, using very small sawblades and fixtures, was developed to produce small, 2-1/4-inch-long samples rapidly and accurately. Test methods capable of producing acceptable results are recommended for the evaluation of these small specimens.
