Prescriptive Statements: Philosophical, Theoretical, and Methodological Considerations

In this introduction, we discuss three potential challenges that may prevent researchers from writing causal or prescriptive claims. These topics relate to the difficulty in measuring latent constructs, the complexity of theoretical frameworks, and advances in statistical modeling procedures. We then provide a brief summary of the contributions of the special issue.
