Abstract
A single-phase mathematical model in radial-cylindrical coordinates is formulated to describe both unsteady state sorption phenomena in the coal matrix and the coupled laminar gas transport in the fracture network. The constant terminal rate solution has been obtained in Laplacian space for an infinite acting coal seam reservoir and solution has been brought to real time domain with the aid of a numerical Laplacian inverter. The proposed semi-analytical solution has been validated by collapsing the solution to the radial finite line-source solution which is applicable for conventional natural gas reservoirs. Furthermore, good agreements between numerical solution and analytical solution have been demonstrated.
