Abstract

A probabilistic analysis of the effects of stochastic soil compression index and hydraulic conductivity on one-dimensional finite strain consolidation is presented. Random field simulation and finite strain consolidation are combined to perform Monte Carlo simulations. Parametric study on the effect of the standard deviation of the stochastic soil properties on output statistics relating to total settlement and consolidation time is conducted.
