Abstract

The importance of project management is discussed. The advances in project management are classified under six categories such as risk management, scheduling, structure, project team coordination, control, and impact of new technologies. The project management benchmarking allows industry executives to gain the advantage of a shorter learning curve in bringing their firms up to the level of project competence.
