Abstract

This Research to Practice, Work in Progress, paper explores the relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation, and systems thinking, through examining the published work in these areas, and how innovation can be incorporated as part of an engineering curriculum. We identify key common requirements between innovation and systems thinking and propose the idea of teaching systems thinking as a way to promote and enhance innovation, and teaching design process as a practical way to introduce and inspire systems thinking in an engineering curriculum.
