Abstract
Detailed quantum-mechanical calculations were performed for cold collisions of helium atoms with hydrogen, deuterium, and tritium molecules. The rotational distributions of the total quenching rate coefficients showed a characteristic behavior that is independent of the rotational inertia of the molecule. The QR and dissociation rotational levels both increased with increasing inertia, but the characteristic behavior of the distributions was unaffected.
