Abstract

One of the most attractive career opportunities for a fresh Ph.D. is to become a faculty member, which affords both the freedom of working on what you love and the security of tenure. It has often been called a ?dream job? since your only boss is you. This article provides some guidance to Ph.D. students and post-docs who are exploring faculty positions at U.S. research universities.
