note = "Funding Information: This is Part II of the special issue on Qualitative Research Ethics in the Big Data Era. It presents different perspectives on the practical and ethical dimensions of big data for qualitative research. Although the volume, variety, and velocity of big data represent a scale that typically requires quantitative research skills to analyze them, the big data era is also affecting qualitative research. This special issue considers the ethical and practical impacts of big data trends on qualitative research. Social scientists need to consider how big data reshapes the research landscape and assess its impacts on research methods, practices, and ethics within qualitative research in particular. The motivation for this special issue derives from a workshop funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on “Qualitative Research Ethics in the Big-Data Era,”1 which was held in December 2016 in Arlington, Virginia. Together, 35 researchers identified and discussed practical and ethical concerns warranting further attention based on commonalities and contrasts across their experiences conducting, funding, and archiving qualitative research. Parts I and II of this special issue expand on these discussions. Publisher Copyright: {\textcopyright} 2019 SAGE Publications. Copyright: Copyright 2019 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.",
