Abstract

The study reported here investigates the differences in the multidimensional quality of direct and indirect lighting systems, as judged by subjects working at VDUs in a simulated office environment. The answer was determined using several analyses, ranging from simple to complex. At each step of complexity, the answer was that the two indirect lighting systems were superior to the downlighting system using most of the dimensions of 'quality' tested.
