Abstract

Electrical and magnetic measurements on BaRu6O12 were performed. It was shown that the compound is electronically quasi-1D, with physical properties extremely sensitive to disorder. In addition, strong evidence for the existence of two ground states and an associated quantum phase transition (QPT) in this quasi-1D ruthenate was found.
